The
AviAuctions International Auction 2026 marked a historic milestone for the
Bruges Fighter and the
African Ornamental Breeders Association (AOBA).
Two exceptional hens from the rare AOBA Colonial Bloodlines, bred by Jean Kiala-Inkisi, attracted worldwide attention from breeders and collectors across Europe, Asia, North America, Africa, and the Middle East.
The first hen opened at
€5,000 (US$5,400) and, after
132 bids, sold for
€8,500 (US$9,180).
The second hen opened at
€7,500 (US$8,100) and, following
125 bids, achieved an outstanding final price of
€13,750 (US$14,850).
With a combined auction value of
€22,250 (US$24,030), these results confirm the exceptional quality, rarity, and international value of the AOBA Colonial Bruges Fighter bloodlines. Following the auction, both hens will begin a new chapter in
Kazakhstan, contributing to the preservation and expansion of these unique genetics.
These bloodlines descend from Bruges Fighters exported from Belgium to Central Africa between 1955 and 1991. After decades of careful preservation and selective breeding, they have become some of the rarest and most sought-after Bruges Fighter bloodlines in the world.
Founded in 2019, AOBA has grown into one of the world's leading conservation programs for the Bruges Fighter, combining historical preservation, scientific breeding, and international cooperation.
